Know Derrick
Hi! I’m Derrick! I started as a creative developer during my freshman year at National Institution of Information Technology back in 2004. I’ve since graduated, moved to Germany, worked in many areas like cleaning and dish washing, quit my job to develop full time, welcomed kids into my life, and left the fancy lifestyle for the "boring" one. I am currently living in Hamburg with my family!
I share a little bit of life, a little bit of work, and a little bit of everything in between. Anything that I’d share with my close friends and employers, I share here… whether it’s a trip I just went on, a great sale that can’t be missed, a documentary or book I loved, a personal challenge I’ve gone through, or simply an outfit I thought was particularly cute!

How can I help?
As a developer my role is to combine design and business logic to achieve a user-facing product. To do this successfully, a wide skill set is necessary to produce a quality user experience that leads to meeting business goals. With my experience I can: Create responsive websites that work on a wide range of devices; Assist with production of clean and functional design; Bridge communication gap between designers and developers; Integrate your website into an easy to use content management system and create desktop applications.
Designer
I value simple content structure, clean design patterns, and thoughtful interactions.
Front-end Developer
I like to code things from scratch, and enjoy bringing ideas to life in the browser.
Systems Developer
I enjoy bringing ideas to life on the desktop too. I design database structures on a high level projects.
Mentor
I genuinely care about people, and love helping fellow developers work on theirs.
